About Dr. Erick Mejia, D.O.

Dr. Erick Mejia, D.O., the founder and owner of Contigo Primary Care & Weight Loss, is a dedicated physician committed to serving the community and establishing therapeutic relationships with his patients. He provides comprehensive care, including treatment for acute and chronic illnesses, and medically supervised weight loss.

Dr. Mejia has multiple board certifications and vast experience in medicine. He is board-certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Physicians and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. Dr. Mejia also holds board-certifications in Obesity Medicine by the American Board of Obesity Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He has extensive experience in both primary care outpatient offices and inpatient hospitals settings.

Dr. Mejia earned his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in family medicine at St. Petersburg General Hospital.

Recognized for his exceptional care, Dr. Mejia has been awarded Best Primary Care Physician distinctions for the “Best of North Port" and "Best of Englewood” contests for two consecutive years, 2022 and 2023. Dr. Mejia is fluent in Spanish, and has treated patients during his medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

In his personal life, Dr. Mejia enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, supporting local businesses, and spending time with his family.
